Chan是一位聪明的律师，他喜欢处理高回报或是能为自己带来名气的案件，用尽一切办法达到自己的目的。在一起备受瞩目的政界车祸案中，Chan从诉讼律师中被除名，他怀疑这起案件另有隐情。Chan决定换个角度跟进这起案件，接近另一位当事人Tin调查真相。 Tin是这起车祸案中死亡的女孩Tonkao的舅舅，他想要为自己的外甥女讨回公道，但由于社会地位的悬殊，并没有得到公正的对待。在Chan和Tin一起调查案件真相的过程中，他们逐渐向彼此靠近，互相产生了好感，但随着调查的深入，危险也在靠近……。Nothing is more frightening, as the narrator points out, than a ‘time-rich nosy person’.
