In the aftermath of Catherine's suicide, Detective John Cardinal outwardly accepts the evidence that she took her own life, but when he starts to receive taunting greeting cards blaming him for her death, he begins to question the suicide.。剧本来自剧中人物夏祖林的日记《可怜天下父母心》，本剧描述了现实中15岁就患脊髓小脑运动变异症，到最后26岁时候开始不能说不能动的夏祖林的前半生所经历，在这段经历中父母的苦心孤诣，还有亲人的陪伴。。《Beast Machines: Transformers》延续了前作《Beast Wars》的故事。Maximals在击败Predacons后返回Cybertron，却发现家园被Megatron统治，所有居民的火种（sparks）都被囚禁。Optimus Primal、Cheetor、Blackarachnia和Rattrap被迫变回兽形态，并失去了大部分记忆。他们在地下发现了Oracle超级计算机，获得了新的科技有机体形态。Maximals必须解放被囚禁的火种，揭开同伴Silverbolt和Rhinox的命运，并恢复Cybertron的有机生命。。
