在众多的“吸血鬼"电影版本中，由约翰．巴德姆执导的本片知名度较低，但男主角法兰克．兰吉拉成功地创造了一个气质高贵的绅士型吸血鬼形象。讲述嗜血的卓古拉伯爵离开他的古堡，跑到现代的伦敦都市去追寻新的猎物，因而经历到不少有趣的遭遇。论编导上的表现本片只算中规中矩，但搭配演出的资深演员劳伦斯．奥利弗和唐纳德．普莱森斯都较有看头。。Framing StoryDr Martin (Robert Powell) arrives at a secluded asylum "for the incurably insane" to be interviewed for a job by the wheelchair-using, authoritarian Dr Lionel Rutherford (Patrick Magee). Rutherford explains that he owes his current incapacitation to an attack by an inmate. Rutherford reveals his unorthodox plan to determine Martin's suitability for the post of head...。
