He fronts a reggae sound system based in west London. The movie captures the trials and tribulations of young black youths in troubled London in the early eighties.。年逾70的中学校长文泰来（钟景辉 饰），德高望重的他倍受人尊重。他也是家中的一家之主，家中儿子超杰（夏雨 饰）、媳妇美仙（陈秀珠）及三个孙子都对他惟命是从，称他为“太上皇”。 泰来对儿子颇为失望，因为超杰已经五十多岁的人，也没有多大的成就，因此他十分重视对三个孙子的教育。 长孙逸朗（刘凯威 饰）完成大学学业后到了一家大公司工作，正好被调回香港，泰来对这个孙子十分满意，所以他对长孙疼爱有加。次孙逸晞（方力申 饰）刚从大学毕业，虽然积极寻找工作，但始终没得到就业机会。最小的孙子逸清（陈宇琛 饰）刚刚读大学，好动贪玩，也有许多让泰来看不惯的坏习惯，泰来与他极难沟通。 泰来常以过来人的身份，教育孙子们如何处理生活中遇到的大小事。。
