Lazareth follows Lee (Ashley Judd), an aunt whose life mission is to protect her orphaned nieces, Imogen and Maeve, from a self-destructing world, raising them in isolation until an outsider threatens their peaceful existence.。相传坊间存在着一间神秘的客栈，门口常挂着客满的牌子，此客栈不以招揽住客为生，反以助人化解麻烦为业。客栈主人在化解麻烦的过程中，总莫名闹出不少关于“麻烦”的笑话，久而久之，便得了“麻烦客栈”这一绰号。不过，千万别因此看轻这间“麻烦”聚集的客栈，因为到最后，它总能清理所有麻烦，让访客带笑而归。。
