在一间书店打工的青年山本光（相叶雅纪饰）和经营钢铁厂的高桥杏奈（荣仓奈奈饰）是从小玩在一起的青梅竹马。木讷的山本创作了名为戴维克罗（剧团一人配音）的漫画形象，虽然奋力笔耕，却迟迟未能出名。在圣诞节即将到来的日子里，一直梦想邂逅梦中情人的山本偶遇拿过许多国际大奖的灯光设计师泰素妍（韩孝珠饰），他毫不掩饰地将心中喜悦告诉杏奈，然而并未察觉好友且喜且忧的复杂心情。在杏奈的撮合下，山本得以有机会和素妍接触交流，与此同时，他还重遇在漫画界风头正劲的大学同学北山一路（生田斗真饰）。四个人奇妙的因缘，通过戴维克罗之手连接在了一起。 本片根据中村航的同名小说改编。。Kei, a transgender man, longs for a quiet, "normal" life in rural Japan, but his partner prefers the freedom and openness of life in Tokyo.
