A film about existence, on the boundaries between...。片断回忆： 从1993年开始TVB兴起了一股翻拍金庸剧的潮流，随之而来的是正剧之外的前传或外传类的杜撰金庸剧的轮番出场，射雕出了九阴真经，南帝北丐，中神通王重阳，倚天则出了这部金毛狮王和后来96年的武当张三丰。 金毛狮王一定程度上丰富了倚天中明教这条线的情节，谢逊和成昆如何从师徒变为仇敌，阳顶天和成昆怎么会从莫逆之交变成一对死敌，杨逍殷天正等人如何成为一代大侠，这些都是该剧吸引大家眼球的资本所在。 当然该剧的硬伤也不少，和其他“杜撰金庸剧”一样，部分情节捏造的有些与原著无法联系，但整体上对于喜欢金庸剧的朋友来说这还算是一道不错的小菜。。
