在这个世界上曾经有一个传说，史上真的存在着人鱼，而且如果吃了人鱼的肉就可以长生不老。随着时间的推移，这个传说逐渐的被人淡忘，可是直到一位叫涌太（山寺宏一 配音）的人出现时，这个传说又被再次提起。涌太原本是一名普普通通的渔夫，不过他已经活了好几百年，原因其实很简单，他吃了人鱼的肉。如果在常人看来，涌太真的很幸运，不仅能长生不老，而且面容也不会衰老。可是涌太却不这样想，他一直在寻求如何解除人鱼肉长生不老的诅咒。因为，他经历了太多生老死别，再也不想面对与至亲的痛苦离别。所以涌太游走于全日本，想找到破解长生不老的方法，直到有一天他遇上了名叫真鱼（高山南 配音）的少女……。In the 5th century, the Roman Empire was collapsing and barbarians threatened civilization.
